With the new year beginning, it is important to take a moment to reflect on how much was accomplished in 2022. This time last year, we were in a high state of anxiety as we awaited the first true covid outbreak. Omicron hit – and it was hard! We were ready, and together we have come out the other side. Omicron has continued to dominate our thoughts, and our teams have done an awesome job implementing our resilience planning, to get through this next wave.
Thank you to our staff for all the hard mahi, dedication, and generosity of spirit that comes from the obvious care and passion they have for the wellbeing of our Tāngata – both our kaimahi, and those we care for. Every person and every role was critical. It would be hard to find a person working in the health system who did not end 2022 totally exhausted, so my wish for you all is to find some time fill your kete with what matters most to you. Thank you for always doing what needs to be done.
