L-R Lynn James, ACC Clinical Services Manager, Access; Jo Goodfellow, National Service Development Manager, Access; Su Marshall from NZ Spinal Trust and Cassandra Hopkins, Director, Focus on Potential.
Access supports more than 200 tāngata around Aotearoa living with spinal cord impairment or injury. This mahi involves the skills of specially trained support workers, nursing and, with Focus on Potential, rehabilitation.
We’re proud to partner with New Zealand Spinal Trust and Spinal Support NZ, two not-for-profits who provide advocacy, peer support and lifeline at times for people with spinal injuries and whānau.
During NZ Spinal Trust’s 2025 Annual Appeal, Access committed to double donations, contributing a whopping $25,000!! These funds keep the lights on, quite literally, for NZ Spinal Trust, covering running costs, wages and yes, the power bill.
We cherish the partnership and the professional and personal relationships that come with it.
Hans Wouters, CEO at NZ Spinal Trust sums up the journey of our partnership so far.
“Back in 2020, when the world was closed and the future of small Not For Profits seemed infinitely precarious, NZ Spinal Trust connected with Access.
Our first meeting was a coming together of like souls. Access understood our ‘why’ and wanted to support it in a practical and meaningful way. They listened to us and what we needed. We could see their service vision clearly connected with ours and was good for our shared community.
We have not once had reason to double guess that initial decision, and our partnership relationship continues to deepen”.
