The process for accessing support for home care, elderly care or disability support services usually starts with the person’s GP or nurse who will refer them to a Needs Assessment and Service Co-ordination Centre (NASC).

Private care is available immediately with no assessment required. Reasonably priced private care can be accessed quickly to suit your needs, from a few hours a week to 24/7 care.

If the person has an injury resulting from an accident that means they need assistance, it is usually a health practitioner (GP, nurse, physio) who will refer someone for services that will be assessed for funding by ACC.

You can also self-refer for wound care or skin tears resulting from an accident to our home nursing service, without needing to visit a  GP. Services are free if approved by ACC and we provide a prompt and professional service.
