NZ Spinal Trust

Access is proud to be the exclusive partner of the New Zealand Spinal Trust’s Whānau Peer Support programme.

NZST empowers people with spinal cord impairments and their whānau to build strong futures through support, information, and connection. Their Peer and Whānau Support team offers lived-experience guidance to those navigating life after a spinal injury.

At Access, we’re committed to this kaupapa. Our support workers and nurses assist tāngata with spinal injuries across Aotearoa, and we match donations to NZST’s annual appeal dollar for dollar, up to $25,000

Spinal Support

Spinal Support NZ is a valued Access partner, providing peer support to people with spinal injury or impairment in hospital and in the community. Our sponsorship helps them continue this important mahi, offering connection, encouragement, and lived experience to those navigating life after injury.

We also help sponsor Spinal Gatherings across the motu with regional events that bring people together to share information, build relationships, and strengthen community.

Rachael Brown – Regional Manager

Our Southern Team is led by Regional ManagerRachael Brown, who has been involved in the Health and Disability sector for 30 years. Rachael works closely with funders, referral partners, and community agencies to ensure the best quality care and support is provided through the region.   

Damien – Clinical Nurse Manager

Damien is our Clinical Nurse Manager for the region and leads and supports our clinical team to deliver safe, effective and culturally responsive care.  Damien has 19 years’ experience working in healthcare including Mental Health Nursing, Serious Injury at ACC and Paramedicine. 

Caroline – Care Coordinator Team Leader 

Caroline, our Care Coordinator Team Leader makes sure your needs are met, that we communicate well with you and we are  in the right place, at the right time. Caroline is committed to ensuring great customer service, quality care and a positive experience for all.  

These are the people who are responsible for care delivery from Oamaru down to Stewart Island, and manage the support workers, nurses, and care co-ordinators for the region.
